It grows as a tree, the fruits of which are soap nuts (small berries with one or three seeds) - have the effect of real natural soap. The plant has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effect. It is well known for its cleaning properties. The soap nuts form a rich natural lather that allows to use them as means for washing the hair, laundry and cleansing of various surfaces. In India, for example, jewelers use them to restore the brightness of dim jewelry made of gold, silver and other precious metals.

The secret of this plant is the saponins which are natural foaming agents breaking down easily in the environment without causing harm to it. Exactly they dissolve fat, penetrate the clothing fibers quickly and effortlessly removing the dirt. That's why the soap nut is a reliable assistant for every housewife in the kitchen.

It is worth adding that the fruits of soap nuts are also of a great medicinal value. This plant is widely used in traditional medicine for treatment of various diseases: joint pain, rheumatism, gout, epilepsy, eczema, excessive salivation, in the treatment of dental caries, herpes, arthritis, colds and many other diseases.
